Hugo de Vries Prijs
De Hugo de Vries Prijs is een jaarlijkse prijs van 5000 euro voor het beste proefschrift op botanisch gebied dat in dat jaar aan een Nederlandse universiteit verdedigd is.
De prijs is een gezamenlijk initiatief van de KNBV en de Stichting Hugo de Vries Fonds. Naast het geldbedrag ontvangt de prijswinnaar een oorkonde.
Kandidaten dienen te worden voorgedragen door hun promotor of co-promotor. Criteria waarop een proefschrift beoordeeld wordt kunt u hier vinden.

Hugo de Vries prijs 2011
Wouter Kohlen heeft met zijn proefschrift "Regulation of biosynthesis and transport of strigolactones and their effect on plant development" de Hugo de Vriesprijs 2011 gewonnen. De prijs werd op 2 april 2012 in Lunteren uitgereikt.
